In the trick-taking game シェリフ (Sheriff), designed for exactly 3 players, one player takes on the role of the Sheriff, another the Robber, and the last the Mayor. Each role will score points differently. The Sheriff scores 1 point for each King taken in a trick. The Robber scores 1 point for each 10 taken in a trick. The Mayor, who decides on the trump suit, receives 1 point for each Queen and Jack collected; loses 1 point for each King the Sheriff does not win; and loses 1 point for each 10 the Robber does collect. Play continues over several rounds until one player has earned 8 points. The player with the highest score wins.
