Chipco Chess takes the basic movement rules of chess and adds wargame-style combat rules. Outcomes are no longer certain because of the use of a d10. Chipco Chess is not solve-able, in the sense of standard chess, since thinking ahead is not possible. Players of all abilities have a more equal chance of winning the game.
