Sakura is an hawaian version played with Hanafuda cards: This version is similar to the Ko Ko version of Hanafuda as we capture a card in the river (also called 'Ba') with a card of the same month we have in hands, then we reveal a card from the main deck. If this card can capture another card of the ba, we can take it. We play all of our cards (8 if we are 2 players, 7 if we are 3, ...) instead of Ko Ko where we can stop or continue before. Some cards have a value (5, 10, 20): at the end of the round, we add the values of these cards to calculate our score ... and if we have a Yaku (3 purple ribbons for example), the others get a -50 points per Yaku for this round. It's easier than Ko Ko and is a good introduction to it. Sutda is a korean version played only with 20 cards (2 of each first 10 months plus 2 'Lights' and is like a poker (the reason why there are token in the box).
