Description
Angel Chess is a Chess variant played on a 9 x 8 board, with an extra pawn and an "Angel" piece next to the King. The Angel combines the abilities of the Queen and Knight, and there are some special rules governing its use, otherwise the game's pieces are used in the same manner as Chess, and the game is won by checkmate of the opponent's King. Is described in The Classified Encyclopedia of Chess Variants (Beasley-edited edition 2007).
