Syrtis is an abstract strategy game inspired by the undersea quicksands of the Mediterranean. Players strive to consolidate their territory as the board steadily sinks beneath the waves. Each player has two towers which move on connected groups of tiles of that player's shape or color. Players use the towers to sink tiles (i.e., remove them from the board). As more tiles sink, players can slide the remaining tiles through the resulting empty spaces. A player wins when all the remaining tiles of that player's shape are connected, or when the remaining tiles of that player's color are connected. A player can also win by sinking four tiles while the opponent sinks none.
