Following instructions from the Mad Hatter cards, players attempt to remove the corresponding object from the brim of their own cap (special caps included). However, players are allowed to identify each object only by touch--no looking is allowed. If a player can correctly name the object, only then may they remove it. If a player removes the wrong object, they must put it back on their cap and pick up another object to add to their cap. The object is to be the first player to identify and correctly remove eight objects.
